Independent User Guide

If this is your first visit, a letter of recommendation from a certified health provider or community medical clinic for warm-water aquatic exercise is required to be submitted to the RBAC. This letter is only valid for 365 days from date of issue.

Usage is on a first-come, first-served basis. Purchase your pass at the front desk upon arrival. Upon arrival at the Center, you may call the Front Desk at (626) 564-0330 ext 0 to verify space.

If the pool is at capacity, you will be asked to wait in front of the RBAC facility. Wristbands are issued 15 minutes prior to the start time of Independent Use. Lap Swimming is NOT permitted in the Therapy Pool. Please shower prior to swimming. Wristbands will be provided to you at the front desk and will be required to be worn while on-site as a therapy pool user.

What if I’m a Physical Therapist and I want to rent space at the RBAC?

Can I bring an "in water aide" to the Therapy Pool?

Therapy Pool Independent User (IU) Updates 

There have been some concerns regarding Independent Users and their aides. Unfortunately, some individuals have been abusing the privilege, and to clarify the RBAC policies and procedures, here are the policies with regards to aides in the Therapy Pool:

  • Aide Verification on Doctor’s Recommendation Letter:
    A doctor’s note must explicitly state that an “in-water aide” is required for safety in order for an aide to be allowed in the water.

o If the documentation does not specify this need, aides must remain on the deck only.

o Aides are present to support, not instruct.

Are Adaptive Swim Lessons and the Rays Team still available?

Yes, Adaptive Swim Lessons and the Rays Team are still in operations and are not affected by the closure of the Physical Therapy Clinic.

New Wellness Classes in the Therapy Pool

The Wellness Classes have been developed to offer small therapeutic group experiences in the Therapy Pool. This purposeful and revitalizing program is designed to elevate your fitness journey. The water’s therapeutic temperature provides the ideal environment for maintaining flexibility, strength and endurance. The buoyancy of the water helps protect joint damage associated with impact and the water’s viscosity provides a unique resistance that you can easily adjust to suit your fitness level. By engaging in targeted functional strength training, you'll unlock the full potential of the aquatic environment's unique resistance, amplified further with specialized equipment.

Join us and experience the dynamic and captivating nature of water-based exercise, as you work towards achieving your fitness aspirations in a supportive and engaging small group setting.

  • Class registration operates on a first-come, first-serve and every effort to accommodate requests will be made.

Please include the following details:

  • Name and Time of the Wellness Class you want to register for. Kindly offer an alternative option in case your primary class choice reaches maximum capacity.
  • Specify your preferred form of payment: if you have a credit card on file, let us know if we have permission to use it. Alternatively, if you prefer, we can assist you with the transaction over the phone.
  • Once we receive your email and payment, a confirmation of your reservation will be sent to you via email.
